STARK - Leatha G. Giggey, 90, died Wednesday morning, August 11, 2010, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster.
Mrs. Giggey was born in Groveton, NH, on February 14, 1920, the daughter of Robert F. and Maude A. (Gochie) Gibson.
Leatha was raised in Stark and later lived in Northumberland where she worked 19 years for Groveton Paper Company. For a time she lived in West Willington, CT, and was employed at the Johnson Woolen Mill where she met her husband Richard C. Giggey.
They returned to Northumberland in 1971. She was an avid fisherman (fisherwoman?) and an excellent cook.
Surviving family members include two daughters, Marilla Lyndes of Colebrook, Veronica Boudle and her husband Irving of Stark; a brother Chandice Gibson of Dunbarton, NH; two sisters, Opal Potter of Guildhall, Theresa Peel of Groveton; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by Richard in 1995.
There are no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held Monday morning, August 16, at 11:00 AM in Emerson Cemetery, Stark. Rev. Brendan Whittaker of Brunswick, VT, will officiate.
