Lena Mae Lord

LANCASTER- Lena Mae Lord, 97, died February 8, 2006, at the Country Village Health Care Center, Lancaster.
Lena was born in Jefferson, NH, on March 9, 1908, the daughter of Percy Guy and Bertha Mae (Ingerson) Dorr.
Mrs. Lord was raised in Jefferson and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1926, she also attended Plymouth State College. In 1927 she married Avery P. Lord and the couple resided in Berlin until they moved south to Holiday, FL in 1971. She returned to New Hampshire in 2001 living at Holton Point until last November at which time she became a resident of Country Village Health Care Center. She was an avid gardener, and she especially enjoyed planting trees and shrubs.
She was a member of the Suncoast Baptist Church in Holiday, FL.
Family members include a niece, Marilyn Carr and her husband Dana of Hartland, ME, two nephews, Lawrence Dorr and his wife Audrey of Crozier, VA, and Donald Dorr and his wife Robin of Naperville, IL; several great nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Avery in 1988, a brother Harold Dorr, and two sister in-laws, Idella (Tucker) Dorr and Elsie McConnell Dorr Underwood.
There are no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held in the spring in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Milan.
