PARRISH, FLORIDA - Leon E. Smith, 72, formerly of Lancaster, died at his home in Parrish on Monday morning, March 8th, 2021. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Leon was born in Lancaster on October 16, 1948 the son of Herbert Francis and Shirley Mae (LaFrance) Smith.
He was a graduate of Lancaster High School and went on to serve with the US Army in the Vietnam War.
Leon was a member of the John W. Weeks VFW Post #3041. He enjoyed driving his beloved Daytona and was proud to be a Lancer.
Family members include his wife Pamela of Parrish; his five children, Joshua Smith of Lancaster, Melissa Smith of Waterford, VT, Shanon Smith of Lancaster, Shelli Roberts of Lancaster, Matthew Smith of Parrish; two sisters, Carol Cormier and Donna Smith both of Lancaster; 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday, March 13th, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home in Lancaster. Due to Covid regulations, masks and social distancing will be required.
A graveside service with military honors will be held in the Spring in Summer Street Cemetery. An announcement will be made prior.
