LUNENBURG - Leonard T. Bilodeau, 74, of Pond Hill Road, died at his home Thursday morning, September 3, 2009.
Mr. Bilodeau was born in Berlin, NH on January 30, 1935, the son of Edmond and Marie Anne (Boucher) Bilodeau.
Leonard was raised in Berlin and Jefferson. For a time he worked and resided in Nashua but for most of his life he has been railroad worker. He was first employed with Maine Central Railroad and later D & H Railroad. Between railroad jobs he was employed for a time as a boiler operator at the Mt. Washington Hotel. He has resided in Lunenburg since 1974.
He was a big Red Sox fan and enjoyed many activities such as hunting, fishing, ice fishing, and snowmobiling. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially spoiling them with Dunkin Donuts.
Family members include his wife Pauline (Sigouin) Bilodeau of Lunenburg; his son Leonard D. Bilodeau and his wife Cindy of Granby; his daughter Elaine "Gain" McLain of Lunenburg; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Norman Bilodeau and his wife Ruth Ann of Jefferson, Ronald Bilodeau and his wife Betty of East Concord; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; a great grandson Zachary Bilodeau; a brother Francis Bilodeau; and two sisters, Theresa Boutin and Rose Anne Sigouin.
Visiting hours will be held Friday evening, September 4, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning at 9:00 AM at St. Leo's Church, Lunenburg. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, South Lunenburg.
