Lillian E. Flynn

LANCASTER - Lillian E. Flynn, 80, of Sand Street, died Saturday morning March 11, 2006 at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster.

Mrs. Flynn was born in Guildhall, VT, on June 18, 1925, the daughter of Berton W. and Consuella (Burt) McLain.

She was raised for a time in Guildhall later moving to Lancaster with her family to operate a farm on Route 2. Remaining a longtime member of Lancaster, she married her late husband Thomas H. Flynn. For a time she was employed at the Kraft Bag Mill in Gilman. She then took time to raise her family and was self-employed for many years cleaning homes, a job that also rewarded her with the gift of extended families.

Lillian enjoyed her vegetable and flower gardens, making home preserves, and embroidery. He greatest pleasure was spending time with her great-grandchildren playing games and doing puzzles.

Surviving family members include three daughters, Sharon Powell, Susan Flynn, and Donna Flynn, all of Lancaster; a sister Mary Ball of Lancaster; three grandchildren, Tina Desrochers and husband Jason, Tammie Gawronski and husband Alan, Michael Powell and Cari Hodgdon; seven great-grandchildren, Abigail, Elizabeth Alexa, Mason, Peyton Adam, Hannah; and many nieces and nephews.

At Lillian's request there are no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held Monday afternoon, March 13, at 2:00, in Summer Street Cemetery, Lancaster. Rev. Dean A. Stiles, pastor of the Jefferson Christian Church, will officiate.
