CONCORD, NH - Linda L. Smulski, 65, died Tuesday evening, May 24, 2011, at Epsom Healthcare Center.
Mrs. Smulski was born in Lancaster, NH, on November 3, 1945, the daughter of Guy and Bertina (Collins) Hawes.
Linda was raised in Groveton, NH, and attended schools there. Her life's work was in healthcare and she has been employed in the medical field as a nurse's aid, LPN, and an EMT. For a time she worked at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster, and she served on the Groveton Ambulance Corp. For ten years she resided in Twin Mountain and later moved to Concord to be near family. Most recently she was employed with the Concord Visiting Nurse Association until retiring due to health.
She was a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary and the Red Hats.
Family members include two sons, Daniel Stonecipher of Concord, Michael Anderson of Berlin; a daughter Kris Lang of Boscawen; three brothers, Winston Hawes and Gordon Hawes of Groveton, Robert Hawes of Groveton and the Philippines; and 7 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Daniel Smulski and a son Scott Anderson.
There are no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held Saturday morning, May 28, at 11:00 in the United Methodist Church, Groveton. Rev. Aaron Cox, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in the Northumberland Cemetery.
