Lois S. McGee, 94 of Lancaster, New Hampshire passed away at Weeks Medical Center surrounded by family on Tuesday, July 22nd, 2025. Lois was born to Earl & Mary Alice (Guilderson) Sinclair on September 30, 1930 in Somerville, Massachusetts. Lois attended Somerville Schools and was a graduate of Barre, Massachusetts High School. In 1952, Lois married Edward McGee and they moved to Lancaster, New Hampshire. Together they had seven children.
Music, church and family were the pinnacles of her life. Lois will be remembered for being a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. For her entire life, Lois displayed talent and love for music, especially both the piano and organ. At age nine, she began study at the New England Conservatory in Boston. She played all of her life and from 1963 until 2020, she was proudly the organist for All Saints Catholic Church in Lancaster. Lois also volunteered playing piano at the Morrison and was a member of both the Jefferson Chorus & Ladies Tabernacle Society.
Before retirement, Lois worked multiple jobs including being a para professional and driving a school bus. It was noted that she could drive truly anything, whether in the city or in the country. Lois was formerly both President & Secretary of Colonel Town Seniors. She enjoyed genealogy and traveling, being able to travel across the globe from Ireland to Hawaii. She loved spending summers at Cape Cod. After being a 4H leader, Lois had a green thumb was excellent at gardening, baking and sewing.
Predeceasing Lois are her parents; sister, Patricia Benoit and her husband of 60 years, Edward and an infant daughter, Bernadette. Surviving Lois are her seven children: Katherine McGee, Mary McGee, Timothy McGee(Joyce), Kevin McGee(Gail), Ellen St. Cyr(Chris). Cecilia Rugh(Bill), and Thomas McGee (Melissa).She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews and beloved cousins.
Calling Hours will be held on Monday, July 28th from 5-7pm at Bailey Funeral Home, 210 Main Street, Lancaster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at All Saints Catholic Church in Lancaster on Tuesday, July 29th at 10 AM. Lois will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery. The family will host friends, family and guests for a reception at the church following the committal. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions can be made to All Saints Catholic Church or a charity of one's choice.
