LANCASTER, NH - Lois Jean Vashaw died on June 26, 2022 at The Morrison in Whitefield. Born November 25, 1929 in Framingham, MA, she was the daughter of William Mason and Esther (Cushman) Mason.
She graduated from Framingham High School and went on to graduate from Framingham State College with a bachelor's degree in education and received a master's in religious education from Andover Newton Theological School in Newton, MA.
She served as director of religious education at the Islington Community Church in Islington, MA and later served as interim co-pastor at the Lancaster Congregational UCC in Lancaster. She taught science in the Lancaster School.
She later worked for the University of New Hampshire as an extension agent for Coos County. She also worked as director of patient services for Weeks Medical Center in Lancaster.
She is survived by her husband Murray Vashaw, her brother James Mason, and three sons: Scott Magoon and his wife Susan, David Magoon and wife Roxanne, and Bruce Magoon and wife Joanna, along with six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her first husband Bruce Magoon, as well as her sister and two brothers.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no calling hours. There will be a private graveside service at the convenience of the family.
