GILMAN - Lois J. Wood, 76, of Commercial Ave., died at her home Wednesday morning December 24, 2008.
Mrs. Wood was born in Barnet, VT, on November 8, 1932, the daughter of Elwin and Lottie (Agon) Dresser.
Lois was raised in Barnet and East St. Johnsbury moving to Gilman in 1950. In 1955 she married her late husband Harold "Pee Wee" Wood of Gilman. She worked for a time in Gilman at the mill and the diner and in Littleton for one of the shoe manufacturing companies. She was also a former Cub Scout den mother.
Family members include a son David Wood of Gilman; two brothers, Elwin Dresser of Gilman, Richard Dresser of Lyndonville; three sisters, Margaret Williams of Florida, Beverly Walker of Gilman, and Marjorie Dresser of St. Johnsbury. Her husband predeceased her in 1994.
At Lois' request there are no visiting hours. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. A burial will be held in the spring at Riverside Cemetery, S. Lunenburg, VT.
