Louis H. Lamotte

LUNENBURG – Louis H. Lamotte, 85, of East Main Street, died Saturday morning, March 9, 2024, a Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, after a period of failing health.

Louis was born in Lancaster, NH on July 11, 1938, the son of Louis Philip and Mildred C. (McGoff) Lamotte. He was raised in Lunenburg and was a graduate of Lancaster Academy. During the Vietnam War he was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving stateside. For most of his life he worked at the Groveton Paper Mill until retirement in 1998. He started a part-time retirement job at Santa's Village that he enjoyed immensely and loved to talk about. Louis also enjoyed visits, gambling at casinos, the Fryeburg Fair, and going for rides. He particularly enjoyed rides with his brother Rod, taking in the scenery while having spirited conversations and debates.

Surviving family members include his sons David “Lou” Lamotte and wife Kathleen of Bridgewater, MA, Kelvin Lamotte of Lunenburg; grandchildren Jessica, Amber, Jake, Connie; great-granddaughter Immy; his siblings Rachel Nason, Rod Lamotte, Ruby Lauber; and special mention to his in-laws and lifetime friends, Frank and Mary McCullock, and Shirley Bouchard. He was predeceased by his wife Joan I. (Bouchard) Lamotte; a son Kim Lamotte; parents Mildred and Louis Lamotte; sister Mary Peavey, a brother Phil Lamotte, and a sister Anna Fain.

Visiting hours will be held Friday evening, March 15, from 5:00 – 7:00PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning, March 16, at 11:00AM at All Saints Church, Lancaster. Reverend Britto Adaikalam, pastor, will officiate. Burial Services will be held on at 10am on Monday, September 16th, 2024 at Calvary Cemetery, Lancaster.
