Louise J. Lauzon

JEFFERSON - Louise J. Lauzon, 88, of Turnpike Road, died Wednesday morning August 6, 2014 at Country Village Genesis Eldercare Center, Lancaster, after a brief illness.

Mrs. Lauzon was born in St. Malo, Quebec, Canada on June 21, 1926 the daughter of Wilfred and Cora (Gagnon) Couture.

Louise was raised in Canada and in 1945 she married Henry J. Lauzon at St. Albert's Church, Stewartstown, NH.  For several years they resided in Groton, VT and for over 50 years she has lived in Jefferson.  She worked in local shoe shops, the Saranac Glove Company, Manchester Knitting and retired from the Campbell Paper Company.  She was a member of the Tabernacle Society and sang in the choir.  She loved to sew and knit. Most of all she loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren.

Family members include two sons Yvan Lauzon and wife Monique of Jefferson, Michael Lauzon and wife Shelley of Groton, VT; a daughter S. Marguerite Davis and husband Fred of Whitefield; two brothers, Jean-Paul Couture and Julien "Chick" Couture both of Jefferson; one sister, Ghislaine Dubois of Jefferson;  fourteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her parents Wilfred and Cora, a daughter Hugette Lauzon in 1959; a son Antonio Lauzon in 1998; and three brothers, Albert, Rosaire and Antonio Couture and sisters Josette Pelletier and Solange Couture.

She was a Communicant of St. Agnes Church, Jefferson and All Saints Church, Lancaster.

Visiting hours will be held Friday evening August 8 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home in Lancaster.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning at 11:00 AM in All Saints Church, Lancaster.  Reverend Matthew Mason, Pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be held at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, Lancaster.
