LANCASTER- Marie Faith Kent, 92, formerly of Bunker Hill Street, died Tuesday evening, July 17, 2007, at Country Village Genesis Health Care Center, Lancaster.
She was born in Lancaster, on December 11, 1914, a daughter of Henry Percy and Marie Elene*(Gagnon) Kent.
Faith was a lifetime resident of Lancaster, she attended Lancaster Academy and Lasell Seminary in Auburndale, MA. She was first employed in the Lancaster Savings Band and Trust Company and from May of 1951 to December of 1984 in the Lancaster National Bank where she worked for more than 33 years. She also worked in the office of the Headmaster of Lancaster Schools and was a part-time assistant in the Weeks memorial Library where she was the Children's Librarian. Know as the local town historian, she was a great source of information for many people.
She was a charter member of the Lancaster Historical Society and was also a member of several other historical and genealogical societies, being interested in and collecting family histories of the early settlers and residents of the Upper Connecticut Valley.
Family members include a sister, Julia Kent McCabe of Littleton and four nieces and nephews; seven grand nieces and nephews; two great-grand nieces and one great-grand nephew. She was predeceased by, a brother David H. Kent of Littleton.
At Faith's request there are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Friday morning, July 20, at 10:00 AM, in the Summer Street Cemetery, Lancaster. Reverend Virginia Alvarez, pastor, at Lancaster Congregational United Church of Christ will officiate.
