Marcia E. Pond

August 23, 1945 — January 29, 2017

LUNENBURG - Marcia E. (Colby) Pond, 71, of Baptist Hill Road, died on Sunday, January 29, 2017 in Lancaster after a long illness.

She was born in Lancaster, New Hampshire on August 23, 1945, the youngest daughter of Clifford and Eleanor (Morse) Colby.

Marcia attended area schools and made a career of painting and wallpapering. She served clients in the area for many years. She married her long-time partner, James Pond, of Lunenburg on December 31, 1981. Jim died in 1988.

Marcia loved to hunt and fish, and spent many hunting seasons with Jim at their camp in Lunenburg. She also enjoyed a few camping trips with her nephew Brian and family. She had dry sense of humor, and a quick wit. She loved to dance the two-step, and for many years invited family members to a holiday gathering with merriment and music. She had a soft spot for her pets, and liked feeding the wild birds in her yard. She lived a quiet and simple life, and will be missed very much by her family and friends.

Loved ones include her long-time companion, Roland Ingerson; nieces and nephews Eleanor Frechette of Windsor, Vermont; Brian Parks and wife Terri of Dalton, New Hampshire; Gary Pond of Haverhill, Massachusetts; George Silsby and wife Lynda of Lunenburg; and several great-nieces and nephews and cousins.

Marcia was predeceased by her parents, her husband Jim; brother Dana Colby; sisters Karlene Silsby and Marilyn Pond, and her niece Charlotte (Silsby) Cornell, all of Lunenburg.

At Marcia's request, there will be no calling hours or services. Private burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Lunenburg in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lancaster Ambulance Service, 19 Mechanic Street, Lancaster, New Hampshire, 03584.
