LANCASTER - Margaret D. "Peggy" Roberts, 71, of Grandview Drive, died Wednesday morning, August 15, 2012 after a recent illness.
Mrs. Roberts was born in West Stewartstown, NH, on July 22, 1941, the daughter of George Trenholme and Ina (McGrath) Dickson.
She was a graduate of Colebrook Academy, Lasell Junior College and Rollins College earning a BA in Sociology and Elementary Education.
Peggy married Erling R. "Butch" Roberts of Lancaster on September 8, 1963.
She has been a longtime Lancaster resident and active member of the community. She was a member of former head of the Booster Club, for 15 years worked on the Golf Tournament Committee for Weeks Medical Center Auxiliary, and was a volunteer at Lancaster School.
She was a member of St. Paul's Church, Lancaster where she served several terms as a vestry member and taught Sunday School.
Peggy enjoyed many things in life including piano playing, golfing, bowling, playing bridge, knitting, family pets and spending time with the "Fluffies". She loved the family camp on Maidstone Lake and enjoyed waterskiing and spending time on the party boat.
Family members include her husband Butch of Lancaster; a son Michael Roberts and his wife Shelli of Lancaster; two daughters Michelle "Shelly" Stinehour and her husband John of Lunenburg, Margaret "Meg" Murray and her husband Ray of Lancaster; a brother Donald Dickson and his wife Joan of Colebrook; 7 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
At Peggy's request there are no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held Monday, August 20 at 1:00 PM, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Lancaster. Rev. David Taylor, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Summer Street Cemetery, Lancaster.
She requested that donations in lieu of flowers be made in her memory to the Lou Leaver Memorial Fund, Inc., Colonel Town Recreation Department, P.O. Box 110, Lancaster, NH 03584 or to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 113 Main Street, Lancaster, NH 03584.
