Marguerite M. Dean

JEFFERSON, NH - Marguerite M. Dean, 84, of Presidential Highway, died Friday afternoon, September 22, 2006, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon.

Mrs. Dean was born in Melrose, MA, on February 26, 1922, the daughter of Lester and Marguerite (Hart) Chisholm.

In her youth she was raised in Providence, RI, where she attended local schools including the Katherine Gibbs Business School. She met and married her late husband Edson A. Dean Jr. and when he returned home from WWII they moved to Warwick, RI, and raised their family.

For a brief time she taught at the Katherine Gibbs School and worked for the Census Bureau and other various jobs. Primarily she believed in being a homemaker and was a devoted wife and mother.

She was member and former Deaconess of the Shawomet Baptist Church, Warwick, RI, where she took part in many of the churches activities and programs.

In 1968 she and her husband moved to Jefferson, NH. They became integral members of the Jefferson community and she was a volunteer at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster. Edson predeceased her in May of 2005.

Surviving family members include her four children, Edson A. Dean III of North Kingstown, RI, Marguerite M. Costa of Jefferson, Marilyn M. Davis of Warwick, RI, Richard C. Dean of Jefferson; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister Louise Palmer of Warwick, RI.

At Mrs. Deans' request there are no visiting hours. Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
