LANCASTER- Maria T. Widmayer, 81, of Prospect Street, died Saturday morning March 18, 2006, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster.
Mrs. Widmayer was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on February 26, 1925, the daughter of William and Anna (Trurish) Robas.
Maria was raised in Pennsylvania until the 1930's when her family moved to New York. In 1949 she married her husband of 56 years Edward J. Widmayer. She worked as a Business Representative for AT & T for 30 years, retiring in 1976. She has been a resident of Lancaster since 1978.
She loved to cook, knit, and read, especially mysteries.
Family members include her husband Edward of Lancaster, a nephew Joseph Daleo and his wife Marie of Maui. She was predeceased by her sister Sophie Daleo.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday March 21, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A funeral service will follow immediately after at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Reverend William Brown, of Gilman, VT , will officiate. Burial will follow in the Summer Street Cemetery, Lancaster.
