Under the light of the Flower moon, on one of her favorite days of the year, Mary Helen Mclain Ball departed this earth to go to her Heavenly home, united with her Beloved Savior and family for eternity.
Mary was born October 28, 1933 ,the daughter of Burton and Consuella Susan McLain. She was the youngest of many siblings growing up on the family farm in Lancaster. Life on that farm was the center of many conversations throughout her adult years, passing on knowledge to the generations.
She graduated from Lancaster Academy with high honors. Employed her excellent secretarial skills while working at the Lancaster Courthouse and later in her married years at Diamond International.
She held a deep love and respect for her country. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years as well as a Sunday School teacher. She loved being a longtime resident of Lancaster until her older years, as her health began to fail. She lived in the Seacoast of New Hampshire with her granddaughter, Molly, before finishing her life at Rochester Manor.
Mary loved the earth and the life that came from it, always remembering it was God's creation and thanking Him for it. She had a green thumb and spent many hours gardening in her flowers and vegetables. She loved to cook. Her favorite poem was learned from her mother's kitchen, Let Me Live In a House By The Side of The Road, and would later lead her along with her husband Erwin to reside and raise their family on Reed Road. Grandchildren thrived there surrounded by their loving grandparents.
Mary is predeceased by her beloved husband, Erwin, daughter Tammy and baby Mitchell David Ball. She is survived by son, Charles Ball and daughter, Dianne Hollingworth (husband Jeff). She was a beloved and loving grandmother to Kenny, Steve, Charlie, Amy, Naomi, Molly and Jenny. She adored her many great grandchildren. She was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Words to a favorite song her girl scouts sang, "Make new friends but keep the old. One is silver and the other gold" have decorated her life through the years with many memories woven into the tapestry of her journey. Most recently in her challenging years with Parkinsons disease friends Ginny, Herman, Michelle, Margaret and Tony were silver threads woven into difficult days that brought help and comfort to her.
Her journey ended with the confession of her faith in Jesus Christ. Her heart in prayer was that everyone might know that there is perfect love from God that He has extended to imperfect people. "The King of love my Shepherd is, His goodness failed never. I nothing lack if I am His and He is mine forever!"
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions can be made to the Residents Council Activity Fund at Rochester Manor, 40 Whitehall Road, Rochester, NH 03867-3225. Mary will be laid to rest at Summer Street Cemetery, with a Graveside to be held by the family on Saturday, June 6th at 1pm.
