LANCASTER – May E. Samson, 82, of Water Street, died at her home Monday morning, December 19, 2022, after a long period of failing health. She was surrounded by her loving family.

May was born in Lancaster on December 7, 1940, the daughter of Kenneth F. Fraser Sr. and Georgia I. (Libby) Fraser. She was a lifetime resident of Lancaster where she met and married Paul P. Samson and together they raised their children.

May enjoyed being a homemaker to her family, along with cooking, gardening, and crafts. She loved family gatherings and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving family members include her husband Paul of Lancaster; her children Judith Marier of Littleton, Jeffrey Samson of Lancaster; Dennis Samson of Groveton; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; a sister Marilyn Ayer of Texas; brothers, Donnie Fraser of Lancaster, Allen Fraser and James Fraser, both of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons, Kevin Samson, Paul Samson Jr, and a brother Kenneth Fraser Jr.

Visiting hours will be held Monday evening, December 26, from 6:00 to 8:00PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A graveside service will be held Friday, May 5th at 11:00AM in Summer Street Cemetery, Lancaster.
