Melody S. Smith

February 27, 1970 — February 8, 2016

TWIN MOUNTAIN- Melody M. Smith passed unexpectedly at home February 8, 2016.  Moving on to be her family's beautiful Angel watching over them.

Melody was welcomed into the world on February 27, 1970 by her loving parents: David and Janet Skinner of Whitefield NH.  Melody spent most of her life in the Whitefield and Twin Mountain area.    Melody went to school at White Mountain Regional High School.   In 1994 she and Nathan Smith (Whitefield NH) were married on October 8.  When Nathan returned from his tour of duty with the United States Marine Corp they moved with their son Adam to Hubert North Carolina as Nathan was stationed at Camp Lejeune. They lived there for 4 years.  Melody and Nate moved their family back to Whitefield NH where they have resided ever since.

Melody was the life of a party and always enjoyed life to its fullest.  She enjoyed her family and lived to support her children in all their activities.  Melody was very busy with her love for Racing.  She spent 17 years on the top bleacher s at Riverside Speedway cheering on family and friends.   After that she moved on with family and friends for Season tickets to Loudon starting at the beginning in 1990 and she became a NASCAR enthusiast.  Many new friends were made at the camping trips to Loudon.  She would spend a week in a parking lot spreading her antics and laughter to new friends every year.  Besides camping in Loudon she enjoyed camping in Maine at the ocean and just spending quality time with her family.  She was a devoted wife of an Iraq war veteran who performed both roles as a mother and father during Nate's 18 month deployment.

Her other passion was her participation in Burndy's Relay for Life that she participated in the past few years.

Melody was a devoted mom to 3 children:  Adam (Whitefield) Tonia and Ned (Twin Mountain).  Adam gave her another love and that was being a "Nana" when Michael J Smith, Leland A Smith (both of Whitefield) and Natalia Schmitt (Lancaster).   She was very proudly waiting with Adam and Kayleigh Ham with the birth of her newest grandson due any day.  She will be watching over them all with a very proud smile.   They are very lucky grand children to have her for the precious short time of their lives.

Melody is also survived by her husband Nathan Smith, parents David and Janet Skinner of Whitefield NH. A brother Michael Skinner of New Milford Connecticut Michaels sons  Cody and Ryan Skinner of Indian Trail North Carolina and  Michael's partner Deb Wood of New Milford Connecticut.    In-laws, David Smith and friend Pearl Morancie of Whitefield, David and Stacey Smith and daughters Chloe and Carlee of Goffstown NH.
