By the sweat of your brow you shall eat bread, until you return to the ground, from which you were taken; For you are dust, and to dust you shall return (Genesis 3:19). God’s plan for Mike included living exactly 70 years to fulfill his life’s journey before he was called back to our Lord. He worked hard, played hard and was ready to leave this world when our Lord and Savior called for him.
Mike was born and raised in the Carolina’s where he spent the first half of his life prior to moving to Jefferson, NH where he lived until he passed. While living in the Carolina’s, he worked as a Molding Maintenance Inventory Controller; worked for the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) as a Regional Technical Advisor for the safety and inspection of drag race cars; and was a knowledgeable handyman completing many projects/repairs in a local mobile home park. In the North Country, Mike worked for numerous Property Management Companies including R & R Clement Property Services; worked many years as a Maintenance Supervisor in a local nursing home; and was working with his Home Depot family as a Department Supervisor when a second and new round of cancer (AML) knocked on his door for a final time. Although Mike battled cancer and health hardships for the past five years of his life, he never shied away from hard work!
Mike also played hard…he LOVED EVERYTHING Harley Davidson. He was a member of the Winnipesaukee HOG Chapter in Meredith, NH, holding multiple positions including Assistant Director. He met many of his “brothers” who became great friends through the Chapter! It was also known that Mike was an avid hunter spending much time at the family camp with his wife, father/mother-in-law and close family (not only hunting but 4 wheeling and snowmachining). He and his wife also enjoyed camping at multiple campgrounds; sometimes even having a seasonal site.
Mike is predeceased by his parents, two of his sons (Casey and Joshua) and four of his beloved feline fur babies (Beetle; Tuni; Tillie; RooRoo) and his grandpup Ruby. He leaves behind his beloved wife and best friend, Sherri, of 24 years; two sons: Justin (Carly) of Nashua, NH and Michael of North Carolina; his beloved feline fur baby, Ninja; a grandson, Carter of North Carolina; grandpups Bowie and Monte; Brother Rick (Wanda) of South Carolina; sister Lisa of North Carolina; Father/Mother-in-Law Leslie and JoAnne Emerson of Lancaster, NH; Sister/Brother-in-Law John and Chrystal Locke of Moultonborough, NH and many, many more much loved family and friends. He will be dearly missed!
