Miriam L. Winther passed away suddenly at her home in Jefferson on April 30,
2008.
She was born on Nov. 27, 1922 in Portland, ME the daughter of the late George F. and Louise (Gilkey) Long. She moved from Hollis, NH to Twin Mountain in 1986 with her late husband, Thomas Z.Winther, and then to Jefferson in 1998. Mrs. Winther and her husband operated Johnson's Motel in Twin Mountain until June of 1999.
Miriam was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Lancaster, NH. She remained active in the work of the church and of local Christian ministries to the end of her life. She enjoyed her family and numerous close friends, opening her home to them and remaining in touch with them through an active correspondence.
Mrs. Winther is survived by, 7 children, 15 grandchildren, 23 great grand children and 8 great, great grandchildren.
Services---
Mrs. Winther was interred in a private cemetery located in Jefferson on Friday, May 2
nd
following a family graveside service.
Family and friends are cordially invited to a memorial service celebrating her life and labors, which will be held at Faith Presbyterian Church at 108 Main Street in Lancaster, NH on Saturday, May 10
th
at 11:00 am.
