Mollie Rae Berry

December 10, 1991 — September 1, 2017

LANCASTER - Mollie Rae (Queenie) Berry came into this world early on a cold Tuesday morning, Dec. 10 1991, surprising her parents, as we had been told she was a boy. Our beautiful baby girl became our "queen" at a very young age, and this nickname followed her throughout her all too short life. Mollie left us tragically and broken hearted on Sept. 1, 2017.

Mollie was born in Littleton, and spent her first five years in New Hampshire before moving to South Florida for her first five years of school. She then returned to the North Country, where she resided until her tragic passing. Mollie attended Whitefield elementary and graduated from the North Country Charter Academy in Lancaster with her brother Cory Gilman.

Although her life was short, she had the best blessing this life has to offer of a being a mom. Mollie brought a beautiful child into this world, her daughter, Miss Dazie Rae, whom she loved dearly. Mollie struggled with depression since her teenage years and her depression took over so many times, yet she soldiered on. It was her daughter and her love for Dazie that helped her through some very difficult times. Mollie was admired for her strength by those who really knew how difficult everyday could be for her. Too many close and dear friends to list, there were so many that loved her and remained a friend throughout the years. Mollie seemed to have a way of making others feel worthy, yet she couldn't see her own value, the depression was always right behind her.

Mollie was born to Tracie Woodburn (Dennis Samson) and Raymond Berry, who predeceased her. Mollie lost several friends in her all too short life, including her beloved brother Adam, who passed before her on April 29, 2015. Her close friend Rodney Tyler Webster's death was extremely hard for Mollie; he was her friend, and it was eighth grade. She mourned for him the rest of her life. It was sad for so many, the whole community was heartbroken, we had lost a beautiful child.

Mollie is survived by her mother, Tracie Woodburn; three brothers, Rob Berry, Brian Woodburn and Cory Gilman, and a sister, Jada Berry; and a very special cousin she considered and always referred to as her sister, Stephaine King, and her God sister, Meadow Dobson. She is survived by three very special men in her life - Dazie's father, Eric Berry; her fiancé, Steven Blaisdell; Kevin Daley; and Joseph Mulcahey. She is also survived by her lifelong sister/friend Jessica Collins, her bestie Mary Williams, and her close friend Dawn Potter.

Mollie had a large extended family, including her aunts, Denise Mazzone, Elizabeth Hurst, Audrey King, Bev Berry, Doris Mitton, Barbara Barrett, Anna Berry, Sheila Berry and three uncles Howard, Alan, and Ronald Berry. She is survived by her nieces Shahonia, Jessica, Jennifer and Jenna, and by her nephews, Caiden, Seth, Chase, Remick, Ryder, Kain and Dominic. She is also survived by cousins Jason, Danielle, Daniel and Macy.

Paternal grandparents David and Barbara Berry and Maternal grandparents Gerald and Geraldine Woodburn all predeceased Mollie Rae. Clyde and Catherine Dobson, Mollie's God parents, who were a big part of her life and loved her dearly also predeceased her. She was predeceased by uncles Dusty Woodburn, Al Berry, Tex Berry and by her aunts, Carol Rexford (Mollie's favorite person) and Rachael Dubey.

Mollie treasured her time with Dazie, her beautiful daughter who gave her love and strength and as she often said "she is my reason to keep going and keep trying". We are thankful for all the pictures she was always taking of her and Dazie. Mollie's viewing was held at Baileys Funeral Home in Lancaster on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017. Funeral services for Mollie were held at St. Matthews Church on Friday, Sept. 8 at 11 a.m. This world has lost a beautiful soul. Graveside services for Mollie and her brother Adam Woodburn will be held this fall at the fall at the family's convenience.
