Muriel Mahn

June 13, 1932 — June 25, 2018

WHITEFIELD - Muriel (Rexford) Mahn, 86, died peacefully at her home, Monday evening, June 25, 2018. She was born in 1932, the child of Elizabeth (Reiman) Rexford and Richard W. Rexford. She grew up in Whitefield, graduating from Whitefield High School in 1950. She married Reginald Brooks, with whom she had two children, Catherine and Elizabeth. Together they resided in Gilman, VT, until Reginald's death in 1962. She then returned to Whitefield and subsequently married Richard Mahn. Together they enjoyed many years of square and round dancing, making many great friends along the way.

Muriel enjoyed working for 24 years at The Stinehour Press in Lunenburg, retiring in 1991. After their retirement she and Dick traveled across the country three times with their motor home, always taking their well-traveled cats with them. They have also made numerous trips to Florida, also joined by their cat. She and Dick also spent many years as Caleb volunteers, driving many miles to take seniors to appointments. Muriel also enjoyed sewing and quilting with her fellow quilters at the Coos Quilters Guild. Tending her flower gardens was also a favorite pastime and one would often see her working in her flower beds when driving by her house.

She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth "Betsy" Brooks of Whitefield; three stepchildren, Sheila Caron, Richard Mahn Jr., Russell Mahn and their children and grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by second husband Richard; her daughter Catherine; her parents and her siblings, Alice Barnet, Myrtle Pelletier, Louise Boyle, Arlene Cunningham, and Wesley Rexford.

At Muriel's request there are no services.
