GROVETON- Nancy L. Cass, 69, died Friday evening May 20, 2011 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon with her daughters by her side.
Mrs. Cass was born in Morristown, NJ on November 4, 1941, the daughter of Ellsworth and Marjorie (Teets) Sanders.
She lived in New Jersey for several years until moving to Crawford Notch in 1976, where she and her family owned and operated Mt. Nancy Rest Stop and Campground. In 1981 she moved to Lancaster and opened the Cosmic Palace Arcade. She was also a foster mother and a personal care attendant for NFI North. She later moved to Groveton, where she has been a resident for several years.
Nancy enjoyed knitting, crocheting, yard sales, watching Westerns and the food channel. She especially enjoyed going for rides, getting ice cream and watching the sunset. She was a people person and had many friends.
Family members include her daughters Donna Marie Weckesser and companion Dave Hill of N. Conway, Annette Samson and companion Raymond Dubreuil of Lancaster, Michelle Severino of Lancaster and Deborah McCarthy and companion Robbie Baker of Littleton, a brother John Sanders and his wife Linda of Denville, NJ, 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, her first husband Anthony Severino of St. Johnsbury and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by, her parents, her second husband Stephen Cass and a brother William Sanders.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday May 28th, at 2:00 PM, at the home of Annette Samson and Raymond Dubreuil, 51 Causeway St, Lancaster.
