Nila Louise Pond Powers

LUNENBURG - Nila Louise Pond Powers, 90, passed away on Tuesday February 7, 2012 at Country Village Genesis Eldercare.
She was born in Lunenburg on October 19, 1921 a daughter to the late Marshall and Lota (Carbee) Pond.
For seventeen years Mrs. Powers worked for Stinehour Press in Lunenburg. She served on the PTA and helped cook meals. For many years she volunteered her time for the Lunenburg Little League. Her hobbies included knitting and she enjoyed watching television and listening to musicals.
She was a member of the Lunenburg Methodist Church.
Surviving family members include a brother John Pond of Lafayette, NY and a sister Geneva Blay of Schenectady, NY. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband Percy Powers, a son Kenneth Powers; and two sisters Margarete Pelletier and Joyce Fernald. .
There are no services. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Riverside Cemetery, S. Lunenburg.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
