LANCASTER- Mr. Norman Earl Rose, Jr. 84, of the McKee Inn, died Sunday evening March 26, 2006 at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster.

Norman was born in Lexington, North Carolina on June 18, 1921, the son of Norman Earl and Daphne (Sink) Rose Sr.

Mr. Rose was a native of Davidson County, he served in the Navy during WWII, as a submariner. He was a member of the Oxford United Methodist Church where he was a superintendent and teacher of the Sunday school. He was the president of Vo Hammie Carr class and held many church offices. Norman retired as president of Coble Printing Company of Oxford, NC. He was also a former member of the Kiwanis Club and a Freemason.

Family members include his wife Josephine Hedrick Rose of Lancaster; a son Reverend David Dermont Rose also of Lancaster; five grandchildren, Max Stephen Rose, Hannah Elizabeth Rose, Jett Mitchell Rose, Cameron Eliza Rose, Sadie Rebekah Rose, and one great-grandchild, James Caldwell Rose.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family in North Carolina.
