LANCASTER- Ona B. Lane, 85, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at Country Village Genesis Elder Care, Lancaster.
Mrs. Lane was born in Beecher Falls, VT on September 6, 1922, a daughter of Richard Henry Bond and Annie Isabel (Bassett) Bond.
Ona served with the U.S Navy during WWII. She was a resident of Lancaster since 1966. For a time she worked in the cafeteria at the Lancaster Elementary School and also cared for many local children in her home.
Family members include a son John E. Lane Jr. and wife Lori of Lancaster, two daughters, Judy B. Covell and her husband Earle of Alton Bay, NH and Rita Ellen Lane of Westbrook, ME. Three grandchildren Connor Jeffery Lane, Keelin Gayle Lane both of Lancaster and Hilary Nicole (Jacques) Henry and her husband Jason of Center Barnstead, and one great granddaughter Laney Henry. She was predeceased by, her husband of 60 years John E. Lane Sr. in 2007.
She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Lancaster and a former member of the Olive Branch Chapter, OES.
A private graveside service will in Canaan Village Cemetery, Canaan, VT.
