ST. JOHNSBURY - Oscar A. Beaulieu, 62, formerly of Twin Mountain, died Saturday, April 30, 2011, at St. Johnsbury Health and Rehabilition where he has resided for 5 years.
Mr. Beaulieu was born in Whitefield, NH, on September 12, 1948, the son of Roland and Beulah (Rines) Beaulieu.
Oscar was a longtime North Country resident raised in Twin Mountain. He served in Viet Nam with the US Marine Corp. For many years he was employed on the bridge crew with the State of NH Highway Department. His job included work on Mount Washington and the preservation of the Old Man of the Mountain in Franconia Notch. He also worked for many years as groundskeeper at the Maplewood Golf Course in Bethlehem.
Memberships include American Legion Post #41, North Star Lodge #8 F&AM, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Elks, and the Disable American Veterans. Oscar enjoyed hunting fishing and golfing in his spare time.
Family members include two sons, Ron J. Beaulieu and Rob J. Beaulieu; two daughters, Brandy Lee Farias and Carey Lynn Landry; 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; a sister, Georgia Courchaine and three brothers, Bruce O. Beaulieu, Bryant R. Beaulieu, and Dennis J. Beaulieu. A brother Dwight D. Beaulieu predeceased him.
Visiting hours will be held Friday evening, May 6, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home. A Masonic service will be held during visiting hours at 6:30 followed by military honors at 7:00 PM. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
