GROVETON - Patricia Ann McLeod died on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at the Country Village nursing home with her family by her side.
Patricia was born on September 23, 1932 the daughter of the late Antonio and Nancy (Young) Gilman. She lived in Groveton most of her life.
On April 4, 1951 she married her husband of 60 years Norman McLeod. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, always trying out new recipes and preparing new dishes for her family and friends. Always the cook at heart, she catered several weddings in the 70's along with her dear friend Roselyn. Pat's hobbies were reading, keeping up on political happenings in Washington DC, roller-skating, dancing and often times would help volunteer at the old Groveton Town Library. She enjoyed bird watching and loved cats and took upon herself the task of feeding a hot dish for the many stray cats in the winter months often trying to find a home for them. She was a member of St. Marguerite d' Youville Parish, St. Francis Xavier Church and the Groveton American Legion Auxiliary.
She leaves behind her husband, Norman McLeod and three children, Darlene Collins and her husband Clifford of Spring Creek, Nevada, Bonnie Auger and her husband David of Groveton, John McLeod and his wife Betty of Groveton, six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, sisters Constance Connary of Island Pond, Vermont, Anita Tilley of Groveton and a brother Richard Gilman of Stark.
She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Robert, Donald and John Gilman and a grandson Michael McLeod.
At her request there will be no calling hours. A mass of Christian burial will be on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 11 AM at St. Francis Xavier Church, the Rev. Daniel Deveau will officiate.
