Patricia M. Pierce

December 31, 1928 — November 5, 2015

LANCASTER - Patricia M. Pierce, 86, of Grandview Drive, died Thursday evening November 5, 2015, at The Morrison in Whitefield after a lengthy illness.  She was surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Pierce was born in Lancaster on December 31, 1928 the daughter of Reginald Patrick and Dora (Hardy) Monahan.  She was a longtime Lancaster resident working for a time at Weeks Memorial Hospital and for many years was a claims manager for George M. Stevens & Son Insurance Co., Lancaster.

Patricia was a Communicant of All Saints Church, Lancaster and for many years ran the bereavement luncheons at the church with her best friend Margaret Boyer.  She was also an active member of the Tabernacle Society.

For many years she was a volunteer for Weeks Home Health and Hospice.  She loved cats and was particularly fond of her many Siamese.

Surviving family members include two daughters, Tina A. DeMasi and her husband Patrick of Northfield, VT, Otilla J. Pierce and her husband Troy Merner of Lancaster; three sons Reginald J. Pierce and wife JoAnn of Fortson, GA, Trent E. Pierce and wife Lingdi of East Haven, CT, Leslie's partner George Cochron of New York City; grandchildren Adam DeMasi, Jennifer DeMasi-Bruno and husband Michael Bruno, Alexandria Karl-Hand and husband Jeremy Hand, Lincoln Karl, Katie Pierce, Junyi Pierce; a great-granddaughter Charlie Ann Bruno; a sister Jane Harvey of Lyndonville, VT and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband James L. Pierce; a son Leslie J. Pierce; a daughter Sarah Pierce; a grandson Erik DeMasi; sisters, Mary Buteau, Sally Spaulding, Helen Newell; a brother Richard Monahan and her beloved friend Margaret Boyer.

A memorial mass will be celebrated Tuesday morning November 10, at 10:00 AM at All Saints Church, Lancaster.  Reverend Matthew Mason, pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Calvary Cemetery, Lancaster.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to St. Judes Children's Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
