Paul S. Bedell Sr.

GROVETON - Paul Stephen Bedell Sr., 63, of Melcher Court, died Tuesday evening, September 11, 2018, after a long illness.

Paul was born in Whitefield on December 15, 1954, the son of Ralph Bedell Sr. and Daphne (Newton) Bedell Weiss. He was raised and resided throughout the North Country before moving to the Amherst-Nashua area where he worked for many years at Jaspers Poultry Farm where fertilized eggs were produced for Hubbard Farms. Throughout his life he also worked as jack-of-all trades on many carpentry and maintenance projects. Two years ago he returned to the North Country to be near family due to his failing health.

Paul enjoyed everything to do with cars. He liked antique cars, unique cars and race cars. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt Sr. He was a good body man and painted and repaired many cars for both income and as a hobby. For a time Paul enjoyed rifle and bow hunting.

Surviving family members include his mother Daphne Weiss of Groveton; Four children, Paul S. Bedell Jr. and wife Nikki of Berlin, Penny Bedell of Ashby, MA, Janet Balderas of MA, Raymond Bedell of Fitchburg, MA; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; his best friend Beth Lucier of Amherst; a sister Mary Annis of Groveton; a brother Ralph Bedell Jr. and his wife Susan of Jaffrey, NH; a step-sister Susan Weiss Carpenter of Whitefield; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday afternoon, October 6 at 2:00 PM at Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. Burial will follow in Riverton Cemetery, Jefferson.
