Paul P. Samson, Sr.

LANCASTER – Paul P. Samson Sr., 87, of Water Street, died Friday morning, September 29, 2023, at Littleton Regional Hospital.

Paul was born in Jefferson on October 27, 1935, the son of Philip J. and Lucille M. (Clevette) Samson. He was raised in Jefferson where he worked on local farms including his family’s farm. He married May E. Fraser of Lancaster where they resided in Lancaster for the duration of their lives. May predeceased him on December 19, 2022.

For 30+ years Paul worked for the New Hampshire Highway Department and for many years was a volunteer fireman for the Lancaster Fire Department. He also served for a time with the National Guard of NH.

Surviving family members include his children Judith Marier of Littleton, Jeffrey Samson of Lancaster, Dennis Samson of Groveton; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; a sister Helen Coulter of Jefferson; and several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by two sons, Kevin Samson and Paul Samson Jr., and a brother Edward J. Samson Sr.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday evening, October 5th from 6:00-8:00PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 18th, at 11:00AM in Summer Street Cemetery, Lancaster. Life Cycle Celebrant Deborah Szauter of Twin Mountain will officiate.
