LANCASTER - Philip Clayton Reynolds, Sr., 84, formerly of Williams Street, died Friday evening February 19, 2010, at Country Village Health Care Center, Lancaster.
Mr. Reynolds was born in West Buxton, Maine, on February 7, 1926, the son of Gurney W. and Catherine (Murphy) Reynolds.
Philip has been a lifetime resident of Lancaster and the North Country. During his lifetime he worked as a woodsman and in farming. He enjoyed horses and horse pulling, attending fairs, hunting and fishing, and spending time at the Forbes Farm in Lancaster.
Family members include three sons, Philip C. Reynolds and wife Elizabeth of Sanbornton, NH, James Reynolds and wife Flora of Alexandria, Timothy Reynolds and wife Susan of Lancaster; three daughters, Brenda Bishop and husband Bill of Lancaster, Pamela Willey and husband Reg of Whitefield, Rebecca Evans and husband Gary of Boscawen; a brother John Reynolds, of Ashboro, NC; 12 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Philip was predeceased by his wife of 50 years Beaulah (McLain) Reynolds; an infant daughter Marcella Reynolds; a brother Martin Reynolds, two sisters Kathryn Hurlbert and Carolyn Whitehill; and a grandson Timothy Reynolds II.
Visiting hours will be held Monday afternoon and evening, February 22, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A funeral service will be held Tuesday morning at 11:00 AM at the Christ United Methodist Church, Lancaster. Rev. Ron Bruce, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Summer Street Cemetery, Lancaster.
