Obituary

Priscilla A. Buteau Cliche of Lancaster, NH passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026 at the Morrison nursing home surrounded by her loving family.

Priscilla was born November 21, 1939 in Lancaster to Adolphe and Arline Buteau. She was a longtime resident of Lancaster and a devout member of gate of Heaven Parish and also Christ our light parish of Zimmerman, Minnesota where she lived for several years and made lifelong friends. Priscilla attended Lancaster high school. She married James Cliche on August 29, 1959, and they raised their four children in Lancaster.

Priscilla held various positions at local downtown stores. She was also a childcare provider and eventually retired from Passumpsic savings bank. Everyone who met her felt her kindness and compassion and she welcomed everyone with her sweet personality.

She was a member of the daughters of Isabella where she proudly chaired several officer positions. She was also a member of the Tabernacle Society, volunteered at Weeks Memorial Hospital and Fairview Princeton Hospital, and enjoyed helping at the local blood drives.

She was an outstanding bowler, winning numerous awards. She loved to dance and listen to music, especially her favorite singer Elvis Presley. Priscilla was an avid bingo player. She loved to travel, especially to visit family and friends. She was also fond of entertaining and was famous for her baking.

Surviving family members include son Bryan (Judy) Cliche, son Bruce (April) Cliche, daughter Kathryn A.C. (Peter) Landry, and Andrew (Margo) Cliche. Eight grandchildren; Dan, Doug, Daryll, Kyle, Mary, Hannah, Sabrina and Zachary and twelve great grandchildren. She also leaves behind godchildren Tricia Bishop, Diane LaDuke, and Roger Daigle II, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Priscilla was pre-deceased by her parents, her husband, sister Patricia Gilman, and grandchildren Olivia and Mason Cliche.

Calling hours for Priscilla will be Sunday, June 7 from 6 to 8 PM at Bailey funeral home, Lancaster. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at All Saints Catholic Church, Monday, May 8 at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mason A. Cliche Memorial Scholarship Fund, 22 Richardson St, Lancaster, NH.
