Rabbi Joyce E. Meinhardt, 82 of Lancaster, NH went home to be with her Lord, January 7, 2014, at Morrison Nursing Home.
Born April 14, 1931 in Schenectady NY., the daughter of Gordon and Arlene Minehardt. She was raised by her grandparents Harry and Ethel Kilmer. After High School she trained at Ellis Hospital Training School where received her RN. She continued her education at Columbia University receiving a BS degree.
She joined the Air Force Reserve as an RN and was discharged with the rank of Lt. Colonel.
During WW II the family changed the spelling of their surname to appear less Jewish. So Joyce grew up in a neighborhood of Jewish people but did not know she was Jewish until years when later her father told her.
She was introduced to the Jewish Jesus by a friend that sent her on a journey to find out her Jewishness through Him. She attended Pine Crest Bible Training Center and Berean School of the Bible where received certificates in Ministry and was ordained as a Jewish Rabbi in 1990 at Gospel Crusade Ministerial Fellowship in Bradenton FL.
Her love for her Lord and His Word became the focus of her life. Her desire was to share the Word with as many people as possible and teaching them their Hebraic Roots of Christianity. Though she was never married she had a large spiritual family and many spiritual children.
She is survived by a brother Allen, a nephew and niece. Her close friend and co-worker in the Lord, Muriel Trefry and her little companion, a dog named Samantha. She was predeceased by a sister, Patricia, both parents and grandparents.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Joyce E Meinhardt Memorial Library, Shekinah Tabernacle 12 Williams Street Lancaster NH 03584.
