LANCASTER- Randall L. Burke, 75, of First Street, died at his home on, Wednesday morning April 16, 2008.
Mr. Burke was born in Jefferson on August 8, 1932 a son of Benjamin and Lena (Kiser) Burke.
After graduation he served in the US Army during the Korean War. He then enlisted with the National Guard, with a total military career of over 33 years. He worked as a mechanic all of his life and was employed at the Ford Garage, Belanger's Oldsmobile, and at one he operated the Sunoco Station.
He was a stock car driver at Riverside Speedway in Groveton, racing car #14. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, snow mobiling and four-wheeling. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He was a member of the John W. Weeks VFW Post 3040,
Family members include his wife of 25 years, Ann (McLain) Burke of Lancaster, five sons, Anthony Burke of Virginia, Wendell Burke of Palm Bay, FL, Patrick Burke of Maine, Kevin Ball of Lancaster and Brian Ball of Lunenburg, two daughters Shelley Staples of Standish, ME and Sherri Ball of Groveton, a brother Wendell Burke of Lancaster, 16 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by, two sisters Olivetta Eastman and Etta Collins.
At Randall's request there are no calling hours. A memorial service with military honors will be held on Saturday April 19, 2008, at 2PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. Reverend James Michaels, pastor of the Lancaster Assembly of God, will officiate.
