NORTHUMBERLAND, NH- Raymond Canario, 64, formerly of Riverside, Rhode Island, died Sunday morning January 16, 2011, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster.
Mr. Canario was born in Fall River, MA on January 5, 1947, a son of John and Olivia (Medeiros) Canario.
Raymond was raised in Fall River and was a graduate of Durfee High School. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving with the US Coast Guard. Then he went on to graduate from the Rhode Island State Police Academy. He was a Rhode Island State Trooper for 23 years retiring as a Lieutenant. He lived most of his life in Riverside, RI before moving to Northumberland 8 years ago.
He was an avid boater, enjoyed fishing, hunting and loved to make people laugh with his stories.
He was a member of the Lancaster Assembly of God, the Coast Guard Auxiliary and the VFW in Riverside, RI.
Family members include his wife Constance Canario of Northumberland, NH, four children Stephen Canario, Kim Chouinard, Raymond "Randy" Canario Jr. and Victoria Canario all of N. Dartmouth, MA, two stepdaughters Gretchen Castleberry of Ringgold, GA and Jessica David of Capital Heights, MD, a brother Dennis Canario of Middletown, RI and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by, his parents and a brother Stephen.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
