Rene R. Dubreuil
September 12, 1931 — January 2, 2006
LANCASTER - Rene R. Dubreuil of Lancaster passed away at his home on January 2, 2006 surrounded by his family. He was born in Berlin, NH on September 12, 1931 to Alida (Plante) Dubreuil Ashby and Henry Dubreuil. He grew up on the Dubreuil farm on North Road and was a graduate of Lancaster Academy. Rene married Jean Savage on July 2, 1952 and the couple made their present home on Williams Street after moving there in 1957. Rene retired in 1995 from the Groveton Paper Co. mill after working there 40 years.
In his earlier years Rene enjoyed woodworking, playing guitar and singing, dancing with friends, playing pool, hunting, fishing, pitching horseshoes and a little R & R. During retirement he filled his days with working on the woodpile, feeding the birds, playing with his dog Woody, nurturing his garden and watching his grandchildren grow.
Family members include his wife of 53 years, Jean of Lancaster; sons Ronald & wife Lesley Jacobson of Bennington, VT, Michael & partner Vicki Yoder of Canaan, NH, Kenneth of Navarre, FL, Peter & wife Janet of Lancaster and a daughter Patricia Ainsworth & husband Greg of Lancaster; a brother, Robert of Nashua, a sister, Cecile Dutremble of Biddeford, ME; Grandchildren include Micah, Joshua, Abbie, Aaron, & Janelle Dubreuil, Heather Kelley, Katie & Tessa Yoder, Riley & Jacob Moyer, and Emma Ainsworth. He leaves four great grandchildren: Morgan, Adrian, Chelsea and Taylor. Many other family members including brothers-in law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews will miss Rene. He was predeceased by a brother, Raymond, a sister Theresa Hartlen, son-in-law Richard Moyer, and daughter-in-law Diane (Bernier) Dubreuil.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, afternoon and evening, January 5, 2006, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster, NH and funeral services will be Friday, January 6, at 11:00 AM at All Saints Catholic Church, Lancaster. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in the spring.
