Rocky Hill, CT- Richard I. Alexander, 88, formally of Walsh Ave., Newington, CT, died Wednesday March 8, 2006 at Maple View Manor, Rocky Hill.
He was born in Lancaster, NH, on January 8, 1918, son of the late Frank and Doris M. (Plaisted) Alexander and was a resident of Newington since 1956 moving to Rocky Hill in 1999. He was the beloved husband of the late Gertrude M. Stewart. He was the owner and operator of Atlantic Locksmith for 25 years.
Richard was a member of the Mt. Jefferson IOOF Lodge and the Starr King Grange, both of Jefferson.
He is survived by two sons Bernard Alexander, of Forestville, CT and Edward Alexander and his wife Kathleen, of Newington, CT, a daughter Anne Alexander, of Enumclaw, WA, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held Friday March 10, from 5-7 PM at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, CT. Additional visiting hours will be held Sunday March 12, from 2-4 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A funeral service will be held Monday morning at 11 AM, at the funeral Home. Rev. Lawrence Clough, pastor of the Errol Congregational Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Summer Street Cemetery.
