Richard (Dick) D. Hart, age 72, of Groveton, passed away peacefully on May 25th, 2024, at his home.
Dick was born in Groveton on August 13, 1951. He was the son of Royden and Ida (Cote) Hart. He was a lifelong resident of Groveton.
Dick was married to the love of his life, Doreen (Goulet) Hart on October 4, 1975. They shared more than 50 years together and raised two daughters.
Dick worked on the Covill Farm before being drafted into the service in 1971. He was a Hawk Missile Crewman in Germany and earned a National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter M16, Grenade 1st class and Good Metal Conduct. Dick was honorably discharged in 1973. After he went to work for C.B. Cummings before working at the Groveton Paper Mill, later called Wausau Papers in 1977. He retired in 2001.
Spending time with his family. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the most important to him. Dick enjoyed hunting, fishing and safari rides looking for deer along with visiting with the guys in the garage. His hobby was buying and selling. There never was a dull moment with Dick, he always had a story and jokes.
He leaves behind his wife Doreen (Goulet) Hartt and two daughters, Amy Hart (Tommy) and Jamie (Hart) Mason (Corey). He is survived by four grandchildren, Taylor (Mason) Herbert (Jimmy); Mathew Mason; Chandler Brann and Carly Hart as well as Three great-grandchildren, Paisley; Addelyn and Myla. Also surviving is his brother Robert “Bob” Hart (Madeline); Sisters Sharon Findsen (Richard) Rindy Bean (Ronnie) and Darlene McLain (Kenneth) as well as In-Laws Amie (Tim) Goulet (Callie), Jane Cuningham, Mark Goulet (Sheila), Mitch Goulet, Rich Goulet along with several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his Father and Mother Royden Hart and Ida (Corte) Hart; sister Emy; brothers John; Royden “JR” and Darrell, Brother-in-laws Bevin Cunningham and Wayne Goulet as well as his mother-in-law Georgette Goulet.
There will be no services. There will be a celebration of life at Dick’s home on June 8th, at 01:00pm.
