JEFFERSON- Richard Alan Ingerson, 52 of Jefferson died suddenly on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 while working in Connecticut.
He was born in Lancaster, NH on September 18, 1956 the son of Raymond Ingerson and Sonja (Burgess) Ingerson.
Richard graduated from White Mountains Regional High School and spent his life enjoying and working in the North Country. As a young man he worked in the family business. Well known for his automotive and welding abilities, he worked many years for Currier Trucking in Gorham, he opened his own business Rick's Welding and later Ingerson Repair in Jefferson. He was most recently employed by, Abbington Group.
Rick was an avid Nascar fan; he enjoyed hiking, hunting, and especially riding his motorcycles. He took much pleasure in spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered by all who knew him as a loving person of the woods, friends, family and most of all, his bike. Rick cared for those around him, was known for being willing to help out anyone who asked with nothing in return, and would give others the shirt off his back to help any one in need.
Richard leaves behind his son, Garrett Ingerson of Dalton, a stepson Michael Allen of Lancaster; his companion, Cindy Whitman of Jefferson, and his mother, Sonja Ingerson of Arizona. Sisters include Karen Hewitt of Arizona, Justine Ingerson and Lisa Parks both of Lancaster. Brothers include Frederick Ingerson and Michael Hatfield of Jefferson. In addition to many nieces and nephews, Rick was especially close to nephew Nicholas Ingerson of Jefferson who spent many hours at his uncle's garage. He was predeceased by, his father, Raymond Ingerson and a brother James Ingerson.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday morning, October 18, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Richard's name to the charity of one's choice or to the Bailey Funeral Home to help his son defray funeral expenses.
