LITTLETON - Richard L. Roy, 74, died peacefully at his home, Wednesday morning, December 30, 2015, after a recent illness.

Mr. Roy was born in Northumberland, NH, on February 12, 1941 the son of Ludger J. and Florida (Cloutier) Roy.  He was raised on the family farm in Stratford and was a graduate of Stratford High School.  For many years after he resided in Groveton and Lancaster.

For approximately 40 years he was employed at Groveton Paper Company and for many years served as a Groveton police officer.  For 16 years he worked as an overnight valet for the Omni Mount Washington Hotel.

Richard had many interests including antique collecting, gardening, storytelling and collecting vintage cars.  He served in the National Guard and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Surviving family members include his wife Tia L. (Eberle) Roy; a daughter Nicole "Niki" Merriam and her husband Bart of Clarksville, Tennessee; 2 step-sons Kyle Tucker of Barre, VT, Brandon Wakefield of Littleton; a sister Lorraine Beroney of Berlin; 5 grandchildren Colby, Chandler, Carlin, Cameron, and Conleigh Kennedy and 2 great-grandchildren Chloe Ellis and Arabella Kennedy.

A memorial mass will be celebrated Saturday morning January 2 at 11:00 AM at St. Frances Xavier Church, Groveton.  Reverend Daniel Deveau, pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in the spring in St. Francis Cemetery, Groveton.
