For many years he volunteered as a driver for the Caleb caregivers and would drive seniors in the area to their doctor's appointments, etc. He was recognized by Governor John Lynch as Volunteer of the Year.
He and Muriel loved square and round dancing for many years with the Lancaster Skirts and Flirts, Littleton Squares, Twirling Sams, as well as round dancing with the Round Tuits, (based in Lower Waterford, VT with the Connellys and Tirrells as teachers) He even made a brief foray into Round Dance Cueing!
