Richard Frank Way Sr., 81, originally of Lancaster passed away on Monday, March 17th at Lafayette Center in Franconia. He was born to Frank & Myra (Austin) Way on September 26th, 1943.
Throughout his life, Richard lived in the North County and in Lyndonville, Vermont. He worked for Maine Central Railroad for many years and also worked as a logger. Later, he owned garages in Lancaster & Lyndonville. After retirement he worked at Central Asphalt Paving. Richard was adventurous and was a skilled welder and blacksmith. He always had a good time and was able to laugh.
Richard will be remembered for his love of Pony Pulling. He brought home many blue ribbons and was a member of the Northeast Kingdom Pulling Association and New England Draft Horse Association.
Predeceasing Richard in passing are his parents and four siblings: Stanley, Ralph, Harold and Eleanor. He leaves behind five children: Richard Way Jr., David Way, Kimberly Reid, Jeremy Way & Stephen Way.
Calling Hours will be held from 11am-1pm on Saturday, April 5th at Bailey Funeral Home, 210 Main Street, Lancaster. A Memorial Service will follow immediately after.
