Rita C. Nolette

May 29, 1926 — April 29, 2017

Rita C. Nolette of Lebanon died at Lebanon Genesis Health Care on Saturday evening, April 29 . She was born in Marshfield, Vermont, the daughter of Edouard and Roseanna Buteau Cloutier. She was educated in Whitefield, NH and Lancaster, NH schools, graduating from Lancaster Academy. She went on to earn her nursing diploma from the St. Louis Hospital School of Nursing in Berlin, NH. She worked most of her nursing career at Weeks Memorial Hospital in Lancaster and only very briefly at Sacred Heart Hospital in Manchester, NH. She was married to Alfred (Fred) Nolette from Berlin, NH for over 60 years prior to his death several years ago.

Though arthritis in her hands and orthopedic problems in her leg prevented her from writing and knitting in later years, she enjoyed painting at her assisted living complex, The Meetinghouse in Manchester, and at Hillsborough Nursing Home Goffstown. She made a number of friends in both places who helped sustain her in the years following Fred's death. She had relocated to Lebanon last September.

Rita was a true caregiver, with nursing being a natural career path. Though she had not been able to actively practice for some time, she stayed current with advancements in nursing practice. Many of her friends at the Meetinghouse sought her out for opinions/advice related to their healthcare. She remains lovingly remembered by many patients she cared for in Lancaster.

In addition to her husband, Rita was predeceased by: her parents; her brother, Raymond; her daughter-in-law, Mary; and 2 grandchildren, Amanda and Adam.
She is survived by her children: Michael, of Londonderry, NH; Peter, of Cornish, NH; and JoAnn Felisme of Manchester, NH; and her brother, Robert Cloutier of Manchester, NH; and her sister-in-law, Ann Beaudet of Rochester, NH.
She is also survived by her grandchildren: Charles Nolette of Beaufort, SC; Andrew Nolette of Colebrook, NH; Nicole Chartier of White River Jct., VT; Danielle Nolette of Lebanon, NH; and Kevin Felisme of Chicago, IL. 3 great-grandchildren, Gretchen, Seth, and Logan. Also by several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be at All Saints Catholic Church in Lancaster on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 from 9-11 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the church at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lancaster.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook Road
Merrimack, NH 03054
The family would like to recognize and give thanks to the staff at The Meetinghouse Assisted Living of Manchester, NH, the Hillsborough County Nursing Home in Goffstown, and Lebanon Genesis Health Center in Lebanon for helping to provide Rita with the best possible quality of life she might have in her later years. She made many friends at all places who held a special place in her heart.
