Robert E. Arsenault

WHITEFIELD - Robert E. Arsenault was born in Berlin, NH, on October 26th, 1928, son of the late Philibert and Pearl (Coffin) Arsenault. Bob is survived by his wife Deborah (Day) Arsenault and four children from a previous marriage; Jill F. (Arsenault) Kloberg, Robert P. Arsenault, Bret Arsenault, Heidi Arsenault, and their partners: Mark, Heather, Peg, and Ian. Bob was Grandfather to Haley, Patrick, Amy, and Sydney Arsenault.

Bob graduated from Berlin High school in 1948, then attended the University of NH. He left college to join the Army to serve his country in the Korean conflict in 1951. He worked for the Brown Company in Berlin and again returned to the service of his community by working across the state with the Chamber of Commerce and then as a Law Enforcement Investigator in the NH State Liquor Commission through his retirement in 1991.

Bob was a "north country" resident most of his life. An outdoor enthusiast with a penchant for competition. His passion as a four-event skier was a gift passed on that all his children and grandchildren which they share to this day. Bob jumped the famous Nansen ski jump and was the NH state ski jumping champion in 1947 and 48. After retirement, he continued to compete; as a runner, in cycling and cross-country skiing. Bob competed in cross-country skiing in the World Masters Championships in Canada in 1990. He also enjoyed tennis, sailing, birdwatching, jazz, and hiking. He was a member of the AMC 4,000-footer club, having climbed all 48 peaks.

Bob was also a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan and his favorite player of all time was Pedro Martinez.

There will be no memorial service due to the pandemic.
