LUNENBURG, VT- Robert M. Smith, 69, of Bobbin Mill Road, died at his home on February 25, 2008.
Mr. Smith was born in Barre, VT on August 8, 1938 the son of Milton and Irma (Coppins) Smith.
Robert served in the United States Marine Corp. For 35 years he worked as a Fish and Game Officer for the State of Vermont, retiring in 1998. He also coached youth baseball and hockey.
He was an avid reader, loved the outdoors, fishing at his camp and most of all watching his granddaughter dance.
Family members include his wife Jeanne (Tremblay) Smith of Lunenburg; his son Michael Smith and his wife Rebecca and his granddaughter Emily all of Lowell, MA and a sister Sandra Jean Ellis of Winter Haven, Florida.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday evening February 27, 2008 from 6-9 PM, at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A funeral service will be held on Thursday morning at 11:00 AM at the Lancaster Congregational United Church of Christ. Reverend Virginia Alvarez, pastor, will officiate.
