Robert C. Mackillop

LANCASTER- Robert C. MacKillop, 68, of North Road, died unexpectedly Thursday morning November 1, 2007.
Mr. MacKillop was born in Lancaster, on June 24, 1939, a son of Edward Alexander and Marguerite Musette (Kennett) MacKillop.
Bob was a life long resident of Lancaster; he was a 1958 graduate of Lancaster Academy. He served in the U.S Army in the mid 1950's and was stationed in Germany.He worked for many years as a Telecommunications Specialist for Western Union and also many years for Temple Construction, Lunenburg, VT. In later years he had a tree removal service.
Robert enjoyed going to Halfway Camp on Temple Mountain in Lunenburg, VT, helping others and was very giving.
Memberships include John W. Weeks V.F.W Post 3041, Lancaster; the American Legion Post #17, Groveton; the fraternal order of Moose, and the Cooties, where at one time he held all offices.
He is survived by seven brothers, Edward W. MacKillop of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Ronald MacKillop and his wife Kay of Guildhall, VT, James MacKillop and his wife Susan of Lancaster, John MacKillop and his wife Sandy of Lancaster, Michael MacKillop and wife Jade of Lancaster, Timothy MacKillop and wife Robin of Lancaster, and Richard MacKillop of Lancaster; seven sisters, Linda Hopps of Groveton, Peggy Brown of Lancaster, Cheryl MacKillop of Lancaster, Patricia Kipp and husband Steve of Florida, Judith Paschal and husband Wayne of Berlin, Joyce Bean of Lancaster, Debra MacKillop and Raymond Frizzell of Stark and his special friend Lorna McKinnon of Lancaster; 30 nieces and nephews, and 49 great nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday afternoon and evening November 3 from 2-4 and 6-9 at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 PM at the Christ United Methodist Church of Lancaster. Reverend Dr. Thomas W. Bentum, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Summer Street Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations maybe made in his memory to the Lancaster Play and Learning Center, 3 Cemetery Street, Lancaster, NH 03584 c/o Amy Graham.
