STARK - Robin O. Montgomery, 62, passed away peacefully at her home in Stark surrounded by her family and close loved ones on Friday, March 9, 2018.
Robin was born in Lancaster on May 30, 1955 to a loving mother, Helen Bernice Hopps who recently predeceased her in October of 2017. She attended school in Stratford Hollow and then began working as a machine operator at the Groveton paper mills where she was a respected employee for 33 years.
She is survived by her husband of over 30 years Richard "Rick" Montgomery; a daughter Sandra Lee Day and husband Dustin of West Stewartstown; three grandchildren, Zackery wife April Wallace of Canaan, VT, Crystal Wallace of Stark, and Tabatha Day of West Stewartstown. Robin is also survived by her five siblings, Edwin "Sam" Shannon and Donna of Lunenburg, Ralph "Skeeter" Shannon of West Milan, Michael Shannon of Pittsburg, Harold Shannon and Helen of North Woodstock, NH, and Donna Bailey of West Milan along with several nieces and nephews and two best friends of 40 years, Kathy Noyes (Bob) of Maidstone and Ellen Ramsdell (Ernie Roy) of Maidstone.
Robin was a hard working woman who enjoyed carpentry work, especially painting. She worked on the houses of several of her family members and loved ones, seeing something that needed to be done and working until the project was finished to her satisfaction. She enjoyed helping others as much as she could and never expected anything in return, except for a helping hand when she needed it. Some of her favorite pastimes included going on spontaneous road trips, eating her favorite seafood at Newick's Seafood Restaurant, dressing up with her grandson and going on dates, and spending every moment laughing and enjoying life. Robin will be missed by many, including her two pets Minnie Pearl and Pretty Bird.
Per Robin's request there will be no funeral services held.
Robin's family would like to add special thanks to Kathy Noyes who stayed by Robin's side every day and night both at the hospital and at home. Robin valued your friendship more than anything and we truly thank you for being a part of our family and helping us as much as you helped her.
