MANCHESTER, NH - Roderick J. Crawford, 60, died suddenly at his home on Sunday, September 20, 2015.
Mr. Crawford was born in Lancaster on December 20, 1954 the son of Raymond W. and Julia (Holden) Crawford. He was raised in Groveton and was a 1974 graduate of Groveton High School.
Roderick has been a longtime resident of the Manchester area and worked as an insurance agent. His last job was with Acorn Insurance in Pelham, NH. He took early retirement in February of 2014.
He had a lifelong passion for Genealogy and had researched the Crawford family line back several generations. He was also a member and active participant of the Groveton High School Alumni.
He was predeceased by his mother Julia Holden Crawford in 1969 and his stepmother Virginia A. Crawford in 2014. Surviving family members include his father Raymond W. Crawford of Groveton; sister Sheila Lovering and husband David Lovering, Nephew DJ Lovering and niece Jamie Lovering all of Concord, NH, sister Kathy Wiles and husband Dean Wiles, nephew Loren Lock and niece Sabrina Zanes all of Groveton; brother Gary Crawford of Tennessee; a great-nephew, Julian Dow of Concord; aunts Florence Holden Berube of Groveton, Sylvia Holden Stone of Groveton, Ethel Goodrum of Colebrook, Eva Stevens of Stewartstown; an uncle Kent Holden and wife Sarah of Groveton; and many cousins.
A memorial visiting hour will be held Saturday afternoon September 26, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home in Lancaster. A memorial service will follow at 2:15 at the funeral home. Reverend Bruce Lee will officiate. Burial will follow in Northumberland Cemetery.
